Back to Karambi with the Aall Foundation! August 2024

The Aall Foundation sponsorship has blessed another 125 households with Lifewater systems in Karambi sub-county, at the border of Uganda and Congo, Bwera, Kasese district.

This is a second phase distribution in Kisoslholho Kisanga village following the first phase, Kisolholho 1 village in January 2024.

Mobilization and pre-visit:

Our Lifewater coordinator Pastor Stephen Bwambale in conjunction with local authorities, mobilized and registered 125 beneficiaries for the pre-visit meeting to be conducted by the Lifewater team. This pre-visit happened on 31st July 2024, one week before the distribution, to ensure beneficiaries understand the donation they are going to receive, secondly to help them know how to prepare stands and then be ready for the training which was programmed for 7- 8th August 2024.

Instructing people on how to connect and manage their systems:

Karambi AYA members were involved in the registration of beneficiaries on the front desk, arranging buckets and assisting people during the training sessions.

During the workshop training, Kapipa Stephen was the key person to instruct the beneficiaries, since he speaks the same local language as the beneficiaries. He spoke about the technology of the filter, how it works and how the whole system is connected to the last point of getting clean and safe drinking water.

All were given a chance to briefly address the group.

Chairperson Local Council 3 who is the head of Karambi sub county, honored the work Lifewater has started and extended his appreciation to the Aall Foundation sponsors for having considered his subcounty known to be an area which is hit with water borne diseases.

He said his sub county has more than 30 villages but 6 of them alongside Lubiriha river have never accessed piped water. The total population is 2,050 people living in these 6 villages. So, his request was, Lifewater together with Aall Foundation, should not stop at the second phase but come over and over again until the whole population is covered.
